The Green Summit Abu Dhabi 'GPF GLOBAL', Europe's leading platform for sustainability, innovation, and economic transformation, recently concluded its events at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre.

Al Fahim explained that the concept of sustainability is not limited to the environmental aspect, but is based on three main pillars: the environment, the economy, and society. He noted that the festival witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between European and Emirati companies, aiming to enhance economic partnerships, create job opportunities, empower communities, and ensure a positive environmental impact for future generations.

The festival, which was held for the first time in the Austrian capital Vienna in 2022—and after successful editions in both Vienna and Belgrade—represents a major achievement in its international expansion. It was held for the first time in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi, confirming the growing role of the UAE as a global hub for innovation and sustainability.

Mohamed Suleiman Al Fahim, Founding Partner of the Green Summit Festival 'GPF GLOBAL', said in his opening speech: "We welcome Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and dear guests participating in the event, and we are proud to organize and hold it in the capital, Abu Dhabi, where the UAE is the place where real change towards a more sustainable future is made."

Al Fahim pointed to the great diversity among the attendees, saying that the festival attracts guests from all over the world, including Uganda, China, Costa Rica, Austria, and Lebanon, confirming that the event is completely carbon neutral after offsetting all emissions resulting from the participants' attendance.

"We were able to bring together this elite of leaders and experts because we believe that the UAE, specifically Abu Dhabi, is the place where real change begins and happens quickly. We don't just talk, we work under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, who is leading with an ambitious vision to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2030. The UAE was the first country in the Middle East to announce its commitment to the goal of zero emissions," added Al Fahim.
